National Zoo of Malaysia houses many exciting animals that will grab your toddler’s attention like native Malaysian orangutans, African zebras, and giraffes. The 4,000 animals there are kept in an as natural environment to them as possible.
The highlights of the zoo are the luxurious panda enclosure where you can watch pandas lounge and animal shows like the elephant show, where kids can ride them.
The zoo is only 5km away from the city. It includes plenty of stands around the zoo to grab a bite. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Don’t forget to reapply mosquito repellent and let’s hope your little one keeps that wide-brimmed hat on. Good quality sunscreen should be reapplied often either way.
It is recommended to go early in the day to cover as much as possible. The animal shows and the feeding times happen twice a day (check online for changing schedules). There is also an opportunity to visit the zoo during the night (check out Zoo By Night).
