The only surviving ancient Egyptian-style pyramid in Rome, the Pyramid of Cestius is a 36-metre high monument that has survived since the 12th century BC.
There is an inscription on its marble facade, restored frescoes, and the inner chamber that is now home to a cat sanctuary. Amongst other ancient landmarks and churches, this is also worth the visit.
