Enter Serangoon Road and you will be transported to a different land, a uniquely vibrant and colourful neighbourhood of Little India.
Here vendors sell everything from carts of fruit and vegetables to gold jewellery, fragrant jasmine and Indian outfits.
There are Hindu temples with bright carvings of deities looking down at visitors. And, of course, amazing Indian restaurants to eat colourful dishes with plenty of flavours.
Highlights: Little India Arcade, a maze of storefronts set in 1920s shophouses; Indian Heritage Centre; Jothi Store selling prayer items and Indian cosmetics; Tekka Centre, the largest wet market in Singapore.
